NB_Quests — Quest System
A living quest system for your RedM server — real characters with real stories.
NB_Quests brings a full quest ecosystem to any VORP-powered RedM server: eleven distinct NPCs spread across the map, each with their own personality, backstory, and reason for needing your help. Every quest is built to feel like part of the world instead of a menu you click through — deliveries get handed off by real people, hunts start by tracking down witnesses who tell you what they saw, and wagon-building sends you to three separate suppliers before you ever pick up a hammer.
A cast of characters, not quest-giver mannequins
- 11 unique quest givers spread across Valentine, Annesburg, Emerald Ranch, Tall Trees, Rhodes, Lemoyne, the Heartlands, and Flat Iron Lake — each with their own name, personality, and dialogue that shifts depending on whether it's your first meeting or your tenth.
- Every quest-giver is a real, shared, networked NPC — every player on the server sees the same person in the same place. No private phantom copies spawned per-client.
Four quest types, built for variety
- Gather — collect what's needed from one contact, or several. Multi-item quests send you to a different person for each ingredient, each with their own line of dialogue, instead of one NPC handing you a bundle.
- Hunt — track animals or hostile NPCs, with an optional clue trail: talk to witnesses along the way, each one pointing you toward the next, before the actual encounter spawns. Full wave system, optional named bosses, timed reinforcements, combat roles (snipers, brawlers, support), and difficulty tiers — all configurable per quest.
- Scout — ride out, confirm what's there, report back.
- Wagon Building — gather materials from three separate suppliers, build at a dedicated site, then choose to hand the finished wagon over for full pay or keep it for a fee and store it in a wagon yard for later.
Real progression, not just a checklist
- Reputation — every quest builds or costs standing with that specific NPC, tracked per player, per character. High-trust work can be gated behind a reputation threshold.
- Quest chains — gate a quest behind having completed another one, for genuine multi-part storylines.
- Daily quests — mark any quest to reset once every 24 hours instead of the standard short cooldown.
- Season Pass — a battlepass system with XP, tiers, and claimable rewards tied to quest activity.
Wagon Garage
Three standing wagon yards (Flat Iron Lake, Valentine, Rhodes) where players can store a wagon they've chosen to keep and bring it back out later, with a full in-game UI for managing what's stored.
Built to be customized, not just installed
- Every quest, NPC, item, and location lives in a clearly commented config file — no code editing needed to add new content or move things around.
- A built-in config validator checks your setup on server boot and tells you exactly what's wrong — down to which quest and which field.
- A model validator checks every ped model against real game data, catching typos before they turn into invisible NPCs.
- Complete SQL included for every custom item the resource uses.
